1985 fremstår lækker moden, med rødbrun farve i glasset. Duften har moden og tørret frugt, som dadler, figner og med en snert af tobak og lakrids. Smagen er lækker afstemt med moden frugt, orange og god syre, samt lakrids, der afsluttes i en flot eftersmag.

 90 points Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "Is the 1985 the sleeper of the vintage? An astonishing amount of creamy, black-cherry and chocolate-scented fruit fills the nose. On the palate, this full-bodied wine is loaded with extract, great length, and has super finish with plenty of fruit and tannin in proper balance".
